Farmward Bound

I  have the tendency from time to time.......

to get a little "hermitty"....

But then my dear big sister slaps me

in my face and says.....

"GET OUT OF THE HOUSE BUM!"....

"COME PLAY WITH ME AND THE KIDS!!!"

and.....

well ,

she works out daily and therefore

could take me down in a split second...

so....

as at a very young age ,

i reallized that it is less painful

to just cooperate!  :)

So we spent the afternoon at

Thanksgiving Point....

a huge attraction.

Like ....

Acres upon acres of things to do!

We have a membership there...

It just takes a good convincing  for me to

kick off my sweat pants and  drive there!

But i am always so glad that i did!

The Farm Country attraction
smells like animal butts
is awesome...

So thankful for my  forceful motivated sister

for dragging me outta hiding to go experience

the  World around me!

(i totally hate the squinty eyes and nostril
flares goin on in the  photo below...

BUT

i love chillin with my offspring and...

well....lets be real...

MY AWESOME SHIRT FROM THE THRIFT STORE!)

$3.00 for that perty thang!

woot woot!

A Town that Time forgot...

Spring City, UT

The town is chucked full of

antiques,  rust,  chippy paint,  old crafts, and a

simple way of life!

I wanted to chew on this piece of delicious ...

but it was up to high and would have caused a scene.

hubby looked pretty bummed when i

spotted this sign!  :)

Very old  LDS church
with balcony seats in the chapel!

Next year...

I'm bringing a bike!
There was a whole lotta walkin!

People live in these homes.
It is an entire town full of historical registry homes!

Old cellar door

"Toppins" A Bag and an Embarrasing flashback

Inspired by My dear Friend Miss Mary Poppins....

We were watching Mary Poppins and
singing...

"Feed the birds"
"tuppence, tuppence,  tuppence a bag..."

Lou Lou decided she would like to feed the birds...

and squirrels...

and racoons...

:)

The munchkids collected pinecones...

and spread peanut butter on one side

(one side is less messy)

Then they rolled them in wildlife feed...

All there was left to do was ....

Stand in the middle of the town square dressed in

Rags.

Belting out the chorus....

"Feed the local wildlife and birds....

 Tuppence, Tuppence..... Tuppence a bag!"

But i am such a mean mom and i said no to that part.

Here Is Why....

My mom was the loving, proud , bystander to many

a horrifying performance put on by my sister and i

(and whatever other unsuspecting neighbor girl  we could con into dancing with us in PUBLIC)

We put on productions in PUBLIC areas.

We posted handmade FLYERS advertising the...

Amazing Upcoming Event!

Come see the talent for yourself!!!!

People would come too.
they would patiently wait while we
dug through our Home recorded cassette tapes...

to find the one we would dance to....

And then we would do cartwheels and twirls for 4 minutes

STRAIGHT.

When the song ended we would BOW.

Our mom looked so proud

So We were  sure that...

Everyone there wanted to be just like us.

This is why i am the mean mom that says no!
i am scarred by the embarrasment i put myself through as a child.

I was a NERD.

and my poor mom had to claim me!

aye yie yie yie YIE!

ps....

dont be too hard on me....i have allowed my daughter and niece to
put on a circus and invite 5 helpless neighbors and grandparents
to witness their death defying acts.

i just pray she doesnt hold me accountable for my permission

to do so,  someday.

We All Scream for Icecream!

For   "Home" school.........

we made....

"Home"made Icecream!

( i guess you could call it hotel school
and hotelmade icecream)  ha ha ha...

Takes 8 min. total.
You wanna give it a go????

What you will need for 1 scoop of ice cream:

1 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Vanilla
1/2 C Milk or half and half
6 tbsp Rock Salt
lotsa Icecubes
1 regular size ziplock baggy
1 gallon size ziplock baggy

**

In the small baggy.... mix milk, sugar and vanilla.
Seal the baggy VERY WELL!

In the large baggy.... drop in 6 tbsp of Rock Salt
and 1/2 the baggy full of ice cubes.

(the ice and Rock salt react when combined
and will  create a  temperature of -1 degree C)
COOL HUH!

Place the lil' teeny cute baggy inside the big Mama baggy.
Seal her up and shake their brains out!

Shake for like 5-7 min or until mix is creamy slush.

It gets super duper chilly beaner on your hands so maybe
wrap a hand towel around the bag while shakin it!

Enjoy!

*You could add a super tiny bittle o' cooking coaco for chocolate icecream (like less than a tbsp).
or use Pineapple juice  instead of mild and vanilla to create a sorbet!
